Intra-University Pools

The Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell has always been committed to bringing out the best in the students at NLIU, Bhopal. In line with this tradition of striving for excellence, ADRC organizes the Intra-University Mediation and Negotiation Pools every year. The cell hopes to ensure that the University gives its best at every tournament and that every student at NLIU gets a fair chance at representing it.

The 12th Annual Intra-University Mediation and Negotiation Pools were held in the month of September 2019. The 2019 pools saw about 50 teams across batches and each team consisted of two members who would be ranked individually. The competition spanned 4 days with 32 students landing a spot in the 2019 mediation pool. The mediation problems were drafted by Ms. Yamini from Khaitan & Co. and the rounds were judged by eminent and experienced lawyers in the field which helped enhance the quality of the pools.

The 13th Annual Intra-University Mediation and Negotiation Pools were held in the month of August 2020. Owing to the pandemic, the pools were conducted online. Despite this, it saw an increase in the turnout as about 70 teams participated. Unlike the previous years, the pools were conducted in a competition format where each team was pitted against the other. However, the Batch of 2025 was unable to participate in the pools due to the delay posed by the pandemic. Nevertheless, they too were provided with an opportunity to experience the nuances of mediation through the Freshers Pool organized exclusively for them by the ADRC. This too was in the form of a competition, with teams pitted against each other for a rank in the pool. The judges of both the Annual Pools and the Freshers Pool provided personalized feedback sessions to the participants, which in turn helped them recognize areas they could improve upon and ways to rectify them.
