World Mediation Congress
The Alternative Dispute Resolution cell of NLIU has always been a frontrunner in organizing some of the best events in its field. One such event recently organized by it was the 10th INADR World Mediation Congress, 2021 on 18th June, 2021 in collaboration with Loyola University School of Law, Mykolas Romeris University, and the National Law Institute University. The title of the event was “Common Ground: Using Mediation to Cool off the Heated Planet”. This event was organized virtually due to the unprecedented circumstances faced by the world. In spite of all the challenges, this event was organized very smoothly as others by the ADRC. The theme of the event was novel and interesting. The Congress focused on mediation as a tool to resolve and prevent conflicts in environmental and intercultural disputes, public administration issues, and political dialogues.
The event witnessed participation from some of the most eminent personalities from around the world as speakers. These include Isabelle Lackman, Seema Kakade, and Jen Reynolds. Furthermore, considering the limitations of an online medium the organizers made sure to make the event as accessible as possible. The Congress was broadcasted on the INADR YouTube channel each day from North America, Europe, and Asia with the help of the Academic Partners namely Loyola University Chicago School of Law, USA, Mykolas Romeris University, Vilnius, Lithuania, and National Law Institute University, Bhopal, India. Moreover, the registration for the same was made free of charge to insure easy accessibility. To impart better understanding of the event a brochure containing all the information related to it was made available by the organisers. The World Mediation Congress proved to be another successful event conducted by the ADRC without any hurdles.
