About Us

Since its inception in 2007, The Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, has been a true testament to the changing landscape of law in India and abroad. Functioning within one of the premier law universities in the country, the ADRC has seen some of the most talented, dedicated, and inspired lawyers-to-be, take its reins over the years to bring us to the forefront of the evolving ADR landscape within the country and globally.

Our Activities

We are proud to host one of the most distinguished Mediation tournaments in Asia which witnesses participation from the most eminent and reputable judges as well as law schools, The NLIU-INADR International Law School Mediation Tournament, which has stood the test of time over its 10 editions, even online! We are grateful to have collaborated with the International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR), The Negotiation Academy, New York International Arbitration Centre, Indian Bar Association among others for the tournament.

In 2020, we also hosted our first Negotiation Competition, NINC virtually, with the prestigious Khaitan & Co. as our name partners. NINC has now finished four editions with the last two editions with one of India’s leading firms, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, as our name partner.

The visual landscape of the 2020-21 sessions gave us an opportunity to expand our operations into Webinars aimed at disseminating the knowledge of ADR, and we continue to host webinars and lectures under the Lex Peretia Series with eminent professionals holding engaging discussions on new and evolving aspects of ADR.
