Events
The NLIU ADR Cell strives to promote alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as negotiation and mediation and this vision is brought to life by hosting our two flagship events, namely the NLIU-INADR International Mediation Tournament and the NLIU-CAM International Negotiation Competition.
The first among the two is the prestigious NLIU-INADR International Mediation Tournament, which witnesses participation, judging, and training from across the globe including Asia, Africa, the American sub-continent, and parts of Europe. The tournament is hosted in collaboration with the International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR) and is one of the oldest mediation competitions in Asia. It follows the INADR format, wherein every team (comprising 3 members) has to do 3 rounds, with each member playing the role of client, counsel, and mediator at least once.
Our second flagship event is also one of its kind, the NLIU-CAM International Negotiation Competition (NINC). The nature of the tournament is that of a Commercial Negotiation, involving 2 participants from each participating team, viz. the Client and the Counsel. The first edition of the competition was hosted in collaboration with Khaitan & Co. The previous two editions have been hosted with the prestigious Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas as our name partner.
Participating teams apply for a coveted position in the competition and are shortlisted on the basis of their experience in the field of ADR.
